PetKnows Super Bowl Ad Round Up

by Claudia · February 2nd, 2009 · No Comments

Since my favorite football team doesn’t make it to the Super Bowl very often (the Redskins haven’t made it since the early 90’s), commercials have been my favorite part of the big game for years. Animals are frequently featured in commercials during the big game, from the Budweiser Clydesdales to monkeys to dogs…they clearly draw in the ratings! (Just look at how many of these very successful ads have featured animals.) Last night saw many of our regulars, as well as the first Super Bowl ad ever by Pedigree, which, I must say, was very well done. Below you can see their ad, as well as my other favorites that featured pets and other animals.

Pedigree used their first spot to highlight their adoption drive, a very worthy cause!

This Doritos Ad was by far one of my favorites of the night:

The Budweiser Clydesdales made another great showing this year. Of the three that aired, this is my favorite:

For the bug lovers out there, here’s Coca-Cola’s “The Heist”:

Has anyone else noticed that monkeys seem to make a pretty regular appearance in Super Bowl ads? This year, Castrol Oil gives the little guys a spot:

And a warning with this next one - you might not want to watch it at the office. PETA created a great ad to promote vegetarianism. While hilarious, it’s a bit, um…suggestive, and was not approved for television.
